Do you need a change or a break but don't know where to go?

A Restorative Intensive at Roots of Courage is a private, 1.5-day immersive experience with a licensed therapist that is designed to help you step away, restore, and reconnect to a more regulated state. The time is a curated experience that blends therapeutic support with deep rest and nervous system care.

During the weekend you will receive:

  • 3 strengths-based therapy sessions that will weave together somatic therapy, parts work, movement, art, and EMDR (click here to learn more)

  • Safe and Sound Therapy listening sessions (click here to learn more)

  • Transforming Touch Session (click here to learn more)

  • Somatic tools and grounding techniques throughout the weekend

  • Client guidebook with exercises and notes to take home

  • Access to Safe and Sound subscription for three months to listen at home and continue your healing outside of sessions

  • Aftercare session the following week if desired

This is perfect for anyone who has been feeling uninspired, burnt out, stressed, a calling for something else, a longing to breathe or move, or just a place to decompress. When I was searching for something like this, it was difficult to find. I was looking for a place to go that wasn’t a full retreat or wellness spa, was more than a one hour massage or therapy session, but also wasn’t a deep trauma intensive. The idea for a Restorative Intensive was born. A place to go when you need a reset, but not quite a retreat. If you have questions about what this could look like for you, please book a free consultation here or send questions to: jessicaevanslcsw@gmail.com

Please note, this experience is focused on regulation, release, and looking ahead. If you're looking for an Intensive that focuses on healing childhood wounds or Complex PTSD, please visit here.

Sessions are held at my office building and participants are welcome to stay at home in the evenings or to explore other options that may allow for a more restorative experience such as a hotel, air b and b, or loved ones house.

You may want to block a day off before or afterwards if you are feeling particularly stressed. There are walking trails nearby. Some participants book other restorative outings during this time like massages, sound baths, light yoga sessions, acupuncture, or other body work. I would not encourage anything else intense during this time. A quiet night at home, a hot shower, or even dinner with a trusted loved one after are also options.

The purpose of this time is to allow yourself to receive deep support and leave feeling as though something has shifted when it's done.
